Northwest Day 13 - Arlington, WA

When we got back to the campsite we decided to take a swim in the river. The water was oh so cold and it really felt good. It was like 90 out today and that kinda heat wears on you. However there is not as much humidity as at home so that is good.

It was time for a super good sleep and I just closed my eyes and opened them and it was 6am and there were bulldozers starting up and construction dudes only feet away from our site. I guess they were doing some tree removal from flood damage and nobody decided to tell us. So it was like awake, but not awake, where am I?

We got to Duvall pretty early and I was in no condition to skate let alone try to ride over a large stair set in a pool. So we decided to get on the road toward Orcas Island. We stopped off at the Arlington skatepark just to check it out. This thing is huge, big transition, big pipe and big coping. It looks like great fun but we are planning to hit this on the return trip…

It turned out to be one of those days, catching trains, trying to track down two pizza huts that were closed.. (John had a coupon) We finally were so starving that we just stopped at a Red Robin. The burger was delicious but it ended up costing more than 10 MC Doubles…… But what can you do.

We made it towards Orcas Island Ferry by 2:10 but were informed that we would not be on the 2:30 Ferry. So we sit here waiting for the 5:30. This puts things all behind schedule even more and hopes of finding camping are pretty slim. We’ll see…
