Skull is back

So Skull Skates is back in the USA! The major press release went out yesterday and they are still Canadian owned by P.D. Blitz is gonna distribute the U.S. line of 8 shapes. Bill Danforth is the brand manager for the project. Skull will continue to be made in Canada. So its the same high quality product with the same philosophy. But because they are going through Blitz, the price will come down (no more exchange rate and import fees) So in the next months, Skull stuff will hopefully be available at core shops and you won't have to pay 100 bucks for a deck.... Super cool stuff!!

Excerpt from the original press release:

2009

Skull Skates is back in the USSA, with its second coordinated attack, in cooperation with Blitz Distribution and Bill Danforth, offering limited core Skull dealerships.

Skull Skates was built on simplicity and integrity through dedication to structural and design quality combined with a stark and cohesive jet black, dead white visual esthetic. The original black and white skate brand since 1978, Skull has seen many imitators with zero imagination, but none that stands beside the true ideal of function before fashion. [PD: are you open to change the word "zero" to "little"?]

With deck models made in Canada from hard rock Canadian maple, Skull Skates stands committed to its lineage - here to take skateboarding back from the kooks and chiselers.

ABOUT BLITZ:
Blitz is a brand incubator and distributor of skateboards and apparel brands. Blitz is in business to grow the relevance of the Blitz family of brands to an ever growing audience through design, marketing and distribution.

missing posts?

Wow, I really thought that I was gonna get back on here earlier. It has been a very busy two weeks since I last posted. I got back from NYC and never stopped going. I think I am busier now than the regular school year!! Busy having F.U.N.!!!!!

It's been not stop Possum ramp, Wilson, Whiting and Art. Yep, I've finally been doing some art again. It has taken many weeks just to get my head clear from the last two semesters but now I am able to sit down and do something again. I even did some T-shirts last night so hopefully it will start flowing from the well more than often these next few weeks.

The Creature team was in town last week. It was crazy good. Creature Juice was spread everywhere - green blood all over the coping at every park!!! Sort of. I put a call out to a guy who knew a guy who knew a guy and that guy told them about my ramp. SO I got this call at 4pm on Monday that they might be coming to ride my ramp that night. I got all stoked and teary eyed and scared and happy - but they didn't come or call so I sat there like a dope. I knew that they were probably at Wilson or Whiting shredding and I was missing it.

Cappetto and I went to Whiting the next morning for a session and sure enough there were some subtle signs. A garbage can full of Tecate and Mob Grip backing, grind marks in places where nobody gets too and then "Bill the Waterworks dude" came by and said a bunch of long hairs where there last night.... Man was I bummed!

We went to the demo at Krush that night and were lucky enough to see Hits, Partenan, Gravette, Heddings, Mallory and more shred. Navs was there too but not skating, he just walked around and was hanging out. Super cool dude - looks so different - I don;t think he is human. I was thinking he looks kind of regal, like a king from another time? Anyway, enough about all of that.

Lots and lots of stuff went down, I don't have time to remark on you just needed to be there.... Cappetto got 2 hours of footy so hopefully it will surface. My piece of shit camera was dead and barely would turn on, the delay is so long that I missed half the run... I am gonna get a G10 soon, screw this shit.

We also went to Lake Delton for 2 days of shred. It was a great week sooooooo busy. I am going to pick up the skate god now and do skate camp at Whiting all week... woopie - more to come
